1. Why did you decide to register to this race?
Lapland is a magical place. We've never been there yet, so it's time to do it. What can be better than hiking, running and paddling in the true northern wilderness?
2. What kind of trip you expect Kairacross Vätsäri to be?
Wilderness, adventure, challenging navigation and beautiful scenery. A little bit of racing, tons of fun. Good packrafting practice.
3. Tell something about your team. What does the name stand for?
Snowdog TrailTeam is an adventure racing team from Poland, having almost 20 years of experience in various endurance events all over the world. We love adventures, outdoors and team work. We spend most of our fee time on and off-trails so it become our name in a very natural way.
Snowdog is a Polish IT company being a main sponsor of the team at the moment. I think it's obvious that Snowdog really wants to visit Lapland. :-)
4. What is the longest paddling/packrafting trip you have made? What was it like?
Paddling sections during adventure racing can cover all possible distances. From short & technical white water to long hours of sea kayaking. Sometimes it's not about distance but more about time. Multiple portages, challenging navigation kan keep us on the water for 24 hours. Very often it's only a small part of the whole race, so sleep deprivation is much more intense than during single sport race.
Last race during AR World Championships in Spain took us 142 hours.
5. What’s your goal in Kairacross Vätsäri?
To have good fun, find all checkpoints and enjoy the scenery. IF we can do it quickly and get to the finish line in good time, it's only better.
